Wild & Scenic Westfield River

Over 78 miles of the Westfield River’s headwater tributaries and three major branches are designated as a National Wild & Scenic River managed by the National Park Service. Visit one of the most historic and scenic rivers in the US featuring bolder-tossed streams and waterfalls. Slow down and you may observe wildlife like bald eagles, mose porcupine, beavers and otters. Enjoy fishing and whitewater sports. Some of our most scenic spots include Sanderson Brook Falls, Keystone Arch Bridge Trail, Littleville Lake, the Chesterfield Gorge. For views of the valley in fall, check out the Newman Marsh Trail in Chester.
